Ottawa Charter THIS

The Ottawa Charter for health promotion created in 1986 for WHO to promote actions to achieve Health for All by 2000. It rooted Canada as a country to watch when it comes to health equities.

Granted Health for All failed ... desperately as "health" in even it's most broad definition is currently not being experienced by every living human being... but before I digress too far

That was over 25 years ago. C'mon Canada... no more peeps since then eh?

My point is... While we can stand proud behind that great encompassing piece of legiscripture (oh blasphemous... i know). Don't get too puffed up with pride. Because 25 years is old news.

Canada, we need to continue to push ourselves in creating opportunities for health both in our lives and in others lives (without being too preachy). Why?...

Because we CAN! We are a young nation, and small. With none of the resources and hefty weight of "real" global heavy hitters. But because we don't have that awesome heft... we need even more to stay relevant in the subjects that we are passionate about.

So I say.... HELLO WORLD (AND MY GLOBAL VILLAGE FRIENDS)!

... to be continued... ;)
